Parts, and why the badge matters

Samsung makes its own boards and sources its own parts, so whether a part's available depends on the model year, not on a shared parts platform. A unit that's five years old is usually easy. Older ones can sit waiting on a board, and we'll tell you that before you commit, not after.

We quote a flat rate before starting, and nobody here works on commission. So a cheap repair stays a cheap repair, not a pitch for a new machine.

Samsung tips from our technicians

Specific to Samsung, not general appliance advice — several of these will save you a call outright.

  1. Don't chip out a frozen ice maker

On French-door models the ice room sits on the fridge side, with its own seal and defrost heater. When either fails, the cubes freeze into one block. Prying the block out wrecks the auger housing, and a frost problem turns into replacing the whole module.

  2. Clean the dryer's moisture sensor bars

Fabric softener leaves a film on the two metal strips inside the drum. The dryer reads that film as dry clothes and ends the cycle early. Wiping them with rubbing alcohol is often the whole repair.

  3. Check the washer drain filter before you call

On front-loaders there's a small panel at the bottom hiding the drain pump filter. It catches coins and lint, and a clogged one throws the same drain error as a dead pump. Put a towel down first. It holds water.

  4. A leak code means the sensor underneath, not a cracked tub

Samsung dishwashers are quick to report leaks. The code means water reached the float sensor under the tub. The real repair is finding where it came from, usually the door gasket or a hose clamp.

  5. Tell us which side is warm, fridge or freezer

On Twin Cooling models each side has its own evaporator, so a warm fridge side with a cold freezer means something completely different than it would on a regular fridge. Tell us which one, and we start a lot closer to the answer.

Repair it or replace it?

A Samsung is built to a price and to last about ten years, so the point where replacing beats repairing comes a lot sooner than it does on a built-in. Once you're past the halfway mark, a repair that costs more than half the price of a new one is rarely the right call. We'll run the numbers with you straight, even when the answer is to stop putting money into it.

Samsung repair questions

  • Do you repair Samsung appliances in Pinal and Maricopa County?

Yes, in both counties. Most of what we see is fridges and laundry. Samsung is one of the most common brands in Arizona kitchens.

  • Are Samsung parts easy to get?

It depends on the model year, not a shared parts platform, because Samsung makes and sources its own. Newer models usually take a few days. Older units can wait longer on a control board, and we tell you that before you commit.

  • Is a Samsung appliance worth repairing?

Usually for the first eight to ten years. Samsung builds to a price and to last about ten years, so the point where replacing beats repairing comes a lot sooner than on a built-in. We'll run the numbers with you straight.

  • Why does my Samsung ice maker keep freezing up?

On French-door models the ice room sits on the fridge side, with its own seal and defrost heater. When either one fails, frost locks up the auger. Replace the ice maker without fixing the cause and the problem comes back.
