Freezer Repair
Freezer trouble? We fix them the same day where we can, across Pinal and Maricopa County, and you get the price before anyone picks up a screwdriver.
What we see most on freezers
Frost building up in a freezer is almost always the defrost system, usually the heater or the bimetal thermostat (a small heat switch clipped to the cooling coils). It's rarely the sealed refrigerant system. A freezer that can't hold temperature in an Arizona garage in July is often doing nothing wrong. It's rated for room temperatures it never sees out here.
Symptoms worth calling about
Any of these on a freezer is worth a look. Several are cheap early and expensive once something else has been damaged.
- Not holding temperature
- Heavy frost or ice buildup
- Running constantly
- A door seal that no longer closes tight
- Temperature swinging between cycles

Anything worth checking myself before I book someone?
Check the door seal with a dollar bill. Close it in the door and pull. If it slides out with no drag, the gasket (the rubber seal) is done, and that's a cheap part. If that does not sort it, call us and we will come and look at it properly.
-
What does a freezer repair usually run?
Figure $50 to $100 for the diagnostic call and $150 to $600 for a typical repair with parts. You get a flat rate before anyone starts, and that is the number you pay however long it ends up taking.
-
Is a freezer this age worth fixing?
Two things decide it: how old it is, and what the fix costs. Past halfway through its life with a repair over half the price of new, replace it. Young machine, one failed part, fix it every time. Our tech will tell you which one you have, including when the honest answer is not to spend the money with us.
-
Do you work on commercial freezers?
Not today. We are a residential shop, so restaurant and commercial equipment is outside what we take on. Better you hear that now than after waiting in for a visit we would have to turn down.
