Sub-Zero Repair
Built-in refrigerators with dual compressors. They're made to last twenty years, not eight. We repair them across Pinal and Maricopa County.

Parts, and why the badge matters
Sub-Zero is owned by Sub-Zero Group. That matters, because it decides where a part comes from and how long it takes to get. Knowing what we're walking into is usually the difference between one visit and three.
We quote a flat rate before starting, and nobody here works on commission. On a machine that cost five figures, that matters more than anywhere.

Sub-Zero tips from our technicians
Specific to Sub-Zero, not general appliance advice — several of these will save you a call outright.
-
Vacuum the condenser twice a year, not once
It's behind the top grille on most built-ins. Arizona dust clogs it much faster than the service schedule expects. A packed condenser raises head pressure until the compressor runs hot and the cabinet slowly stops holding temperature. It's the cheapest thing you can do to make one last longer.
-
Test the door gasket with a dollar bill
Close the door on the bill and pull. If it slides out with no drag at all, the gasket has gone hard and stopped sealing. A unit with a bad gasket can run nonstop for months before the temperature drifts enough for anyone to notice, so check it before it turns into a problem.
-
Note which side failed before you call
Sub-Zero runs dual refrigeration, so each side has its own sealed refrigerant system. One side warm while the other stays cold tells us the problem is inside that system, not in shared airflow. That one detail narrows things down before we get there.
-
Never force out a frozen block of ice
When the ice room seals or its defrost heater fail, the cubes fuse into one solid block. Prying it out damages the auger housing (the screw that moves the ice) and turns a cheap repair into a full module replacement. Let it thaw, then get the cause fixed.
-
Don't ignore the service light
The vacuum-condenser and service lights on these units are real maintenance reminders. Ignore them for a year and a condenser you could have cleaned turns into a compressor call.

Repair it or replace it?
A Sub-Zero doesn't add up like a budget machine. The usual rule: if it's past halfway through its life and the repair costs more than half the price of new, replace it. On equipment built to last twenty years, you hit that point a lot later. Our tech will tell you where yours stands, even when the right answer is not to spend the money with us.

Sub-Zero repair questions
Do you repair Sub-Zero appliances in Pinal and Maricopa County?
Yes, in both counties, from our offices in Coolidge and Gilbert. Sub-Zero is the built-in brand we get called for most. A lot of the time we can fix it with parts on the truck, but some parts do have to be ordered. When yours does, we'll tell you what's needed and how long it'll take at the first visit.
What does dual refrigeration mean for a Sub-Zero repair?
Sub-Zero runs two sealed refrigerant systems, one for each side. So if one side fails and the other works fine, the problem is inside that side's system, not in shared airflow. On a regular fridge, the same symptom would mean airflow.
Is an older Sub-Zero worth repairing?
Usually, yes. They're built to last twenty-plus years and parts are still available, so a repair that wouldn't pay off on a cheap fridge is often an easy call. If it's not worth it, we'll say so.
Do you charge to diagnose a Sub-Zero?
We give you a flat-rate price before anyone opens the unit. Nobody here works on commission, so nobody has a reason to talk you into a part you don't need.
